For some reason a bunch of women at work were talking about diet recently. They mentioned how they wanted to lose weight and needed my opinion on what to eat. Do they go low carb? How does fats enter into the equation?
These are some of the most annoying questions to me because these same people asking me won’t actually listen to anything I say. This is why I respond mostly by saying things like, “I just eat the same thing every day” or “I eat a lot of sardines”
Depending on how they respond, I’ll then gauge whether or not I should elaborate.
Everyone is different
People have different bodies with different genetics that allow them to eat different things. I remember a friend of mine in high school bemoaning the fact that I could eat 3 cheeseburgers and nothing would happen and if he ate one, he’d gain 10 pounds.
Before typing out a whole diet plan for someone, they should earn that first by following some extremely basic diet advice.
The simple advice to give to everyone is to focus more on cutting shit from your diet rather than adding “healthy” stuff. This is the easiest path to follow as you can pretty much identify the problems in your diet right away.
What to cut
Just cut this stuff out and watch what happens:
- Disgusting processed oils used for frying shit
- Added sugar to stuff to make it taste good
Cut this stuff out of the typical diet of Americans and you’ll find that there isn’t anything left. This is the point.
Go a week without eating this trash and you’re ready to replace it with good food.
Stop treating food as a reward
Second part of fixing your diet is your mindset. Most will object to diet restrictions based on the fact that they eat as a reward.
When I say reward, I mean their brain gets tickled with reward chemicals after eating some shit.
If you treat food as fuel for how you want to look and feel, you will better be able to cope with eating bland stuff.
Start thinking about how you’ll feel and look after a meal compared to how the meal will taste.
An example is that people in America think pizza is some kind of cultural meal. I’ve argued for years that pizza is trash and I’ve been crucified. About a half hour after eating pizza you will fall asleep because that shit just sits in your gut and has to be broken down by your body.
Eat “clean” “light” food and you will be more alert, more energetic, and in better shape.
What to replace with
You’ve taken out the trash, now what do you replace it with. Start easy.
- Cruciferous Vegetables
- Rice for your carbs
- Grilled meats
- Sardines and oysters
I eat this stuff every day of the week.
I’m 33 going on 34. I’ve never been stronger and my physique has never been better. I feel incredible every day.
Do exactly what I say in this post and you can easily fix your diet.
